From Arequipa, you'll travel to the traditional town of Chivay, stopping off at a few beauty spots along the way. After a relaxing first day and a night's hotel sleep, your trek will begin on day 2 when you spend the day hiking through the canyon from Cabanaconde to San Juan de Chuccho. After a night's rest in a lodge in the canyon, you'll continue with an early morning trek to San Miguel, where along the way you might get to see condors soaring overhead. From San Miguel you'll begin the trip back to Arequipa, stopping off at more beauty spots along the way.

Level 2 trails might have sections that aren't clearly marked. While there's a chance you'll need to use your hands for extra balance, for the most part the terrain on Class 2 levels of hiking is considered easy or moderate. A good pair of hiking shoes or hiking boots is highly recommended here, but no technical gear is required.
