Take time to savour the breathtaking beauty of the Andes with this moderate level trek. As the second biggest canyon in the world, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, this is an unmissable destination while travelling in south Peru. It's filled with varied landscapes, colonial villages, stepped terraces, ancient civilisations, and is one of the best places to see the emblematic condor. From Arequipa, you'll travel to the traditional town of Chivay, stopping off at a few beauty spots along the way. After a relaxing first day and a night's hotel sleep, your trek will begin on day 2 when you spend the day hiking through the canyon from Cabanaconde to San Juan de Chuccho. After a night's rest in a lodge in the canyon, you'll continue with an early morning trek to San Miguel, where along the way you might get to see condors soaring overhead. From San Miguel you'll begin the trip back to Arequipa, stopping off at more beauty spots along the way. On this trek our experienced guides will lead you through stunning landscapes and charming, get ready for an adventure of a lifetime! Itinerary: Day 1 07.00am pick-up from Arequipa Transport to Chivay Stop at National Reserve of Agua Blanca and Salinas to observe vicuñas Stop at Alto Sumbay rock formations 1 hour walk through Coporaque and its surroundings Hot springs in Chivay Hotel in Chivay Day 2 Cruz del Condor to see condors Transport to Cabanaconde Trek from Cabanaconde to San Juan de Chuccho Night in lodge Day 3 04.00am trek to San Miguel 09.00am transport to Chivay, stopping off at various beauty spots Transport from Chivay to Arequipa Arrive in Arequipa at 4pm Children under 12 years get a discount of 20% on the Tour Level 2 trails might have sections that aren't clearly marked. While there's a chance you'll need to use your hands for extra balance, for the most part the terrain on Class 2 levels of hiking is considered easy or moderate. A good pair of hiking shoes or hiking boots is highly recommended here, but no technical gear is required. GP065
