This 7-day trip will take you from Cusco, through the tropical foothills of the Andes, and onwards into Manu National Park deep in the Amazon Jungle. Manu National Park is a protected area of the Peruvian rainforest rich in biodiversity. You'll begin your journey there with a spectacular bus ride downwards through the cloud forests of the eastern slopes of the Andes, where you'll stop to search for some of the local wildlife, such as quetzals, tucanets, hummingbirds, and woolly monkeys, and spend the night in Bamboo Lodge. The next day, you'll continue your journey along the Alto Madre de Dios River. You'll stay in the Maquisapayoj, Hummingbird and Rio de Oro lodges as you travel through the jungle taking day and night treks in search of wildlife, explore the Camungo and Blanco lakes to observe giant river otters, visit a macaw clay lick, climb an observation tower to see toucans, and spend a night at a mammal clay lick to observe nocturnal animals.
