1-day rainbow mountain trek

Hidden deep in the Andes, Vinicunca, or Rainbow Mountain in English, is truly one of Peru's natural wonders.

This trip begins in the town of Pullawasi Pata, from where you'll hike for around 2 hours through the alpaca and llama dotted desert of Puna. The sight of Rainbow Mountain when you arrive, with its colourful landscapes opposite the sacred snow-capped mountain of Ausangate, will truly take your breath away.

After taking in the marvelous scenery you'll hike back to Pullawasi Pata where we'll drive you to Cuscipata for a well earned lunch. After another rest, we return to Cusco.

Itinerary:

4.30am pick-up in Cusco

3 hour bus journey to Cusipata

Breakfast in Cusipata (included)

Transport to Pullawasi Pata

9am arrival at Pullawasi Pata

2 hour trek to Rainbow Mountain

2 hour return to Pullawasi Pata

Transport to Cuscipata for lunch (included)

Transport to Cusco

6pm arrival in Cusco

Please note that this is a challenging hike, it takes place at high altitude and takes a full day to complete. It is a good idea to take a day or 2 to acclimatise prior to the hike.
