2-day colca canyon: arequipa to puno
This trip is an ideal way to take in the incredible Colca Canyon on your journey from Arequipa to Puno.
As the second biggest canyon in the world, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, this is an unmissable destination while travelling in south Peru. You'll pass through incredible landscapes of stepped terraces, colonial villages and huge escarpments, it's also one of the best places to see the emblematic condor. Along the way you'll enjoy stunning views of the region's immense mountains and volcanoes.
This trip begins in Arequipa and includes an English-speaking guide and 1 night with breakfast in Hotel Mamayacchi in the village of Chivay. Also included is trasport from the canyon to Puno, where you'll continue your Peruvian adventure.

Day 1
7.30am pick-up from Arequipa
4 hour bus journey through Colca Canyon
Visit to National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas to observe volcanoes
Visit to National Reserve of “Pampa Cañahuas to observe vicuñas
Visit to Andean community of Pata Wasi
Stops at Tocra and Pata Pampi viewing points
Arrival in town of Chivay for lunch and rest
30-minute walk to bathe in hot springs
Return to hotel Mamayacchiin Chivay for dinner and sleep
Day 2
