2-day colca canyon: puno to arequipa

This trip is an ideal way to take in the incredible Colca Canyon on your journey from Puno to Arequipa.

As the second biggest canyon in the world, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, this is an unmissable destination while travelling in south Peru. You'll pass through incredible landscapes of stepped terraces, colonial villages and huge escarpments, it's also one of the best places to see the emblematic condor. Along the way you'll enjoy stunning views of the region's immense mountains and volcanoes.

This trip includes transport from Puno to Colca Canyon, an English-speaking guide, and 1 night with breakfast in Hotel Mamayacchi in the village of Chivay. It ends in Arequipa, where you'll continue your Peruvian adventure.

Day 1

6am pick-up in Puno

Transport to Colca Canyon

Arrival in town of Chivay for lunch and rest

30-minute walk to bathe in hot springs

Return to hotel Mamayacchiin Chivay for dinner and sleep

Day 2

Breakfast in hotel

Trip to Cruz del Condor to observe condors

1 hour walk through canyon

Visit to village of Pinchollo

Visits to Antahuilque and Choquetico viewpoints

Visits to villages of Maca and Yanque

Lunch in Chivay

Transport to Arequipa (approx 5pm arrival)
